Kent Wooding
Manager, Swan Hill
Kent has over 15 years experience in agronomy and is based in Swan Hill, Victoria. Kent is the manager of AGRIvision Consultants which has 12 consultants and researchers in the team. He is responsible for developing and implementing AGRIvision Consultants strategic and operational plans, and for managing the operational functions of the business, and is also the editor of the AGRIfax service and Farmfact note series. Kent also oversees the project management operations of the business.
Jarrod Brown
Research & Development Manager, Quambatook
Jarrod grew up on the family farm at Meatian, Victoria, and still has a strong involvement with the management and operation of the property. After obtaining his Bachelor of Applied Science in Ag, Jarrod has advised growers and conducted research with several organizations including Incitec Pivot and DPI Victoria. Jarrod manages the research division for AGRIvision Consultants and conducts trials to obtain results for our clients, our consultants and the general farming community. Jarrod has a special interest in precision agriculture and systems management. Jarrod enjoys the challenge of developing, monitoring and evaluating trials and projects to deliver solutions against identified agricultural and natural resource management problems. Jarrod is focussed on ensuring the results contain the economic and financial data to help clients make better decisions. Jarrod sits on the board of the Mallee Agricultural Research Foundation.
Tom Bath
Tech Services Agronomist, Hopetoun
Tom grew up on the family farm at Culgoa in the Victorian Mallee, and still maintains an active role in the farms at Culgoa and Balmoral when time allows. Tom has completed a Bachelor of Agriculture at Melbourne University, Parkville Campus.
Tom's position is based between Beulah and Woomelang allowing Tom the ability to manage projects in these areas as well. Tom enjoys the many challenges that farming in low rainfall environments provide and his special interests are in precision ag and farm systems management.
Matt Bissett
Agronomy Consultant, Nullawil/Sea Lake/Woomelang
Matt works in close association with the local agronomy consultants and assists the R&D division with trial layout, implementation, monitoring and recording. Matt grew up on the family farm at Serpentine and came to AGRIvision Consultants via Melbourne University, Dookie Campus. Matt has a special interest in precision agriculture and takes a lead role in our EM 38 survey work and is proficient with FarmWorks mapping software.
Ian Cocking
Agronomy Consultant, Quambatook
Ian is a key member of AGRIvision Consultants covering the Western Mallee. He grew up on the family farm at Canary Island, Victoria and still maintains an active interest in the property. Ian is another member of the team to study at Melbourne University, Dookie Campus. Ian started in the role of technical services agronomist in Ouyen and quickly developed to become a highly regarded member of the team. He has a special interest in no-till farming especially disc technology. Ian is also a great resource to the AGRIvision team in regards to pasture and hay management.
Joe Fox
Tech Services Agronomist, Beulah
Joe hails from the Lalbert region South West of Swan Hill and is actively involved in the family farm. Joe studied at Longerenong College, completing an Advanced Diploma of Agriculture and a Diploma of Agronomy.
He will be working closely with Tim Hill at Beulah to assist with the farm consultancy and agronomy in this dynamic region for agriculture. Joe will also carry out research as part of the extended R&D team.
Grant Gibbins
Agronomy Consultant, Ouyen
Grant has over twelve years experience as a farm advisor. After studying at Adelaide University in South Australia and later at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Grant chose a career in agronomy in the Lower Mid North of South Australia. He gained valuable experience in agronomy over those eight years and gained a special interest in fertiliser and crop nutrition. He still maintains a special interest in soil management and crop nutrition. Grant has been back in the Mallee as an advisor for 4-5 years now. He is also making time to manage his own cropping program at home and running cattle. Grant loves the lifestyle and the characters that the Mallee environment provides. Grant is an active member on the board of the Mallee Sustainable Farming Project.
Brendan Gove
Tech Services Agronomist, Ouyen
Brendan, born and raised on the family farm in the Beulah region is excited by the move to Ouyen. Brendan has been employed at North West Ag Services in Beulah for the past two years and has completed a Diploma in Agronomy at Longerenong Ag College.
Brendan works with Grant Gibbins at Ouyen and assists with the farm consultancy and agronomy in this dynamic region for agriculture. Brendan has a special interest in precision ag and getting the best from pulses in the Mallee farming system.
Tim Hill
Agronomy Consultant, Beulah
Tim grew up on the family farm at Colbinabbin and still maintains an active involvement in the farming operation. Tim is excited by the many challenges agronomy poses in a low rainfall environment. He works in close association with his client base in the region, and also assists the R&D division with trial layout, implementation, monitoring and recording. Tim completed his study at Melbourne University, Parkville Campus and has a special interest in no-till farming and sustainable farming systems.
Tom Lord
Agronomy Consultant, Wycheproof
After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science Agriculture from the university of Melbourne Dookie campus, Tom started working as a research science officer with BCG. Tom was responsible for a range of GRDC projects including brome grass control and herbicide resistance trials at a range of sites.
After a year in this role Tom was employed by Harm van Rees principal consultant of CropFacts Pty. Ltd as a consultant. Tom worked with a group of clients in an area covering the North Central Victoria, Northern Wimmera and South east Mallee. In this time Tom developed a passion for climate and local area weather patterns.
Tom is an owner of a grain growing business in the northern Wimmera where he maintains a direct influence. He enjoys a balance of both the practical and consultancy based agronomy.
Luke Maher
Agronomy Consultant, Quambatook
Luke grew up on the family farm at Nyah West and thencompleted a Bachelor of Applied Science degree at the University of Melbourne, Dookie Campus. Following university, he spent some valuable time on the family farm before commencing his agronomy career with North West Ag Services in 2003. As a highly regarded professional farm advisor, Luke has helped many growers adopt no-till farming technology with a "hands-on" approach. Luke also maintains a special interest in foliar disease management and precision agriculture. Having a very close link with his family farm allows Luke to test this technology before delivering the results to clients.
Alistair Murdoch
Agronomy Consultant, Swan Hill
After completing university, Alistair conducted research trials for BASF. Alistair then took up the position of advisor/agronomist in Ouyen and is now in his sixth year of working with clients in the Mallee. Alistair has been involved in the early stages of no-till adoption in our region and is highly regarded for helping many growers make the transition into no-till and precision ag systems. The adoption of no-till now sees a large number of Alistair's clients using VRT and EM 38 technology. Due to this necessity and a willingness to learn, he has a keen interest in adapting this technology to the northern Mallee and his own farming interests. Outside of AGRIvision, Alistair is an active member of the VNTFA committee and MSF Vic advisory committee. Alistair is also involved in the family farm where he has direct ownership in the operation. This experience helps him to stay practical and places a strong emphasis on budgeting and cost control when advising farmers.
Doug Parker
Tech Services Agronomist, Quambatook
Doug grew up on the family farm at Quambatook. He has studied at University of Melbourne, Dookie Campus, majoring in cropping before moving back to Quambatook to take up a position with AGRIvision.
Doug is an agronomist with our Tech Services team. Doug provides input to the R&D team including application set up, monitoring, analysis and assessment. Doug also has an active involvement with the farm clients in the Southern Mallee. Doug has a keen interest in assisting farmers by improving water efficiency and through the development of sustainable farming systems.
Tim Pilkington
Agronomy Consultant, Swan Hill
Tim comes to AGRIvision after working for Swan Hill chemicals as an agronomist for the past four seasons. Prior to this Tim managed the family farm at Red Hill in the mid north of South Australia where he was first exposed to the benefits of no-till farming. He studied bachelor of Ag Science at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga and has an advanced diploma in rural business management through TAFE SA.
Tim has a real passion for agronomy and has main interests in working with growers one-on-one to unearth the unique advantages of precision ag, no till farming and crop nutrition management on their farm.
Tim operates in the Mallee region between Swan Hill and Euston.
Kate Wilson
Agronomy Consultant, Woomelang/Hopetoun
Kate is a very experienced advisor and has been involved with agronomy in the Woomelang district since 1993. She has developed a keen interest in soil science in the last few years as well as being at the forefront of helping many Mallee growers switch to a no-till farming system. Kate takes a lead role in the Crop Walker farm management software for the AGRIvision team. Kate farms locally with her husband and two children. She has a strong commitment to the communities of Woomelang and Hopetoun. Kate is also an active member of the BCG advisory committee.
